VoIP Phones

VoIP turns a standard Internet connection into a way to place free or low cost phone calls, bypassing the phone company (and its charges) and routing the calls over the Internet; you can make a VoIP call from anywhere that you have broadband Internet connectivity. Another advantage of VoIP is that most providers bundle features that traditional phone carriers charge extra for, including caller ID, call waiting, call transfer, three-way calling, repeat dial, return call and call filtering.

Using VoIP with ConnectMeVoice

You can use ConnectMeVoice with any VoIP system because our services are not dependent on a traditional phone line. Your incoming ConnectMeVoice calls can be routed to any phone, landline, mobile/cell, or VoIP, and you can also access your ConnectMeVoice messages and faxes online at any time.

To place an outgoing VoIP call, there are three main options:

  • ATA (analog telephone adaptor). The simplest and most common method, an ATA connects a standard phone to a computer or an Internet connection for use with VoIP. The ATA converts the analog signal from a traditional phone and converts it into digital data for transmission over the Internet.

  • Computer-to-computer. Another easy way to use VoIP, all that's needed is the software, a microphone, sound card, speakers and an Internet connection - ideally a high speed one such as a cable or DSL modem. Other than the normal monthly ISP fee, there is usually no charge for computer-to-computer calls.

  • IP phone. IP phones resemble normal phones with a handset, cradle and buttons but have an RJ-45 Ethernet connector instead of a standard RJ-11 phone jack. IP phones connect directly to a router and have all the hardware and software necessary to handle IP calls. Soon, Wi-Fi phones will permit callers to make VoIP calls from any Wi-Fi hot spot.
Whichever access method makes best sense for your business, ConnectMeVoice makes it easy for you to connect with cost-saving tools like VoIP phone.
